IAH (Irish Group) Conference 2014

The Irish Group of the International Association of Hydrogeologists (IAH) are pleased to invite you to join us at our forthcoming annual conference which will be held at the Tullamore Court Hotel on the 15th and 16th April 2014.

Having taken on board feedback from last year’s successful conference ‘Groundwater & Catchment Management’, this time around we aim to address a slightly wider subject range and are working with a theme entitled ‘Water Resource Management: The role of hydrogeology’.

The conference sub-committee is working hard putting the final touches to a programme which we think will both engage and challenge delegates.  We have confirmed expert speakers from Ireland, Wales, Portugal and America to share their perspective on the topical groundwater issues of the day, to include:

- drilling and well design

- groundwater quality

- groundwater dependent ecosystems

- monitoring groundwater in the mining industry

- management of groundwater supply sources.

We anticipate a diverse audience drawn from local and regional authorities, private consultancies, and academia.  An exhibitors area will display the latest wares from industry, and along with the evening social event, will provide plenty of opportunity for attendees to catch up with friends and make acquaintances new.

An afternoon technical workshop will provide a forum for us to learn (and critique) different field approaches and the event will also include poster presentations from students.

On behalf of the organising committee we look forward to seeing you in April.
